Host nation proposes kick-off for AFCON 2025


After sealing an agreement with the World soccer ruling body, the Local Organising Committee of the 2025 African Cup of Nations has submitted a proposed date to the Confederation of African Football.

Morocco had been picked as host.

The timing of the 35th edition of AFCON has recently become the subject of discussion between FIFA and CAF.

The timing of the maiden edition of the 32-clubs World Club Cup is a clash with the African competition and it seems that a resolution has been made.

According to the update from the North African country, the proposed date for the competition is July 23rd to August 21st, 2025.

While the Club World Cup will take place from June 15th to July 13th, 2025.
